Introduction

The onboarding specialist will facilitate employee onboarding activities for temporary personnel in various locations nationwide. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Processing applications and employee onboarding packets for temporary employees

  • Administer background and drug screenings as required by client

  • Process I-9 Verifications and E-Verify

  • Communicate via email, phone, and text to candidates and provide candidate support

  • Ensure that onboarding processes are followed and files are compliant with federal and applicable state laws

As an Onboarding Specialist, you have a unique opportunity to learn about the employee lifecycle. Taking the initiative to learn about recruitment, and other departments are great for this. An onboarding specialists role also requires a blend of communication skills, and an understanding of company culture and processes.

Skill 1: Onboarding Tasks

Onboarding tasks are an essential part of any new talent's integration into a company. These tasks help familiarize new talent with their role, and the processes and systems they will be working with. The most common onboarding tasks you will be facilitating is the onboarding paperwork: New talent is typically required to fill out various forms, such as tax forms, benefit enrollment forms, confidentiality agreements and more. These documents ensure that the company has all the necessary information and legal agreements in place. The paperwork is sent out through our online software Avionte. Skill 2: Avionte Proficiency

Avionte proficiency refers to the ability to effectively navigate and utilize the Avionte software, which is commonly used in the staffing and recruiting industry. This skill includes a thorough understanding of the various features and functionalities of Avionte. Proficiency in Avionte for you involves being able to track candidate applications, send onboarding packets and communicate with candidates through the software.

Skill 3: SourceNow Department Knowledge

SourceNow Department Knowledge is a skill that involves possessing an understanding of the departments within our organization and their specific functions. This will be done by teaming up with an identified colleague from that department where they will give you an overview of how their department functions and the role it plays within the company structure.

Skill 4: E-Verify Compliance

E-Verify is an online system that allows employers to verify the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States. It helps to ensure compliance with immigration laws and maintain a legal workforce. Having expertise in E-Verify and compliance means being familiar with the rules and regulations surrounding the verification process, understanding the necessary documentation, and knowing how to navigate the online system effectively.
