Data-Scribe Web Site Portfolio

  • The Situation: ArtStream wanted to convert their Web site into a content management system and wanted to streamline their data entry process.

The Problem: Our partner, VicoRock Media, planned to upgrade their site to Drupal. They needed to partner with a company to complete the CiviCRM implementation. ArtStream wanted a better way to manage their contacts effectively. They needed to provide a central database that eliminated confusing Excel files for its staff.

Our Solution: We installed and configured CiviCRM on a development server. VicoRock Media handled Drupal installation, configuration, and theming. We worked with VicoRock and ArtStream to migrate their data into CiviCRM in the most effective way.

The Result: The staff is using CiviCRM to manage their contacts internally and has plans to increase its use in the future.

  • The Situation
GrassrootsLab managed two news sites focused on issues in California communities: CaliforniaCityNews.org and CaliforniaCountyNews.org. They wanted to freshen their design, automate some of their administrative tasks, and take advantage of additional social media connections.

    The Problem
The sites were hosted on a system that did not provide enough flexibility for administrators. They wanted to be able to easily search for content in the backend of the sites. And they wanted to be able to feature content in different ways on the public side of the sites. In addition, the previous platform did not offer enough interactivity between the site content and their visitors.

    Our Solution
We used Drupal and migrated the 6000+ blog posts from the previous platform. The sites include a variety of new design and functionality options.

  • The Situation: The California Housing Consortium (CHC) wanted the staff to be able to update their site content easily while taking advantage of enhanced features. Also, wanted a better way to manage membership information.

The Problem: They didn't have as much control over their Web site. Content was not updated as often as requested causing members to miss out on timely information. Their 4,000+ contact records were decentralized.

Our Solution: We used Drupal and CiviCRM to redesign this site. CHC now has enhanced membership management and community-oriented features such as a blog, news feeds, donations, and event registration. We also created private group mini-sites that allow the board and other stakeholders to communicate between themselves and receive the latest news, documents, and information.

The Result: The CHC staff update content on a semi-daily basis and stay in regular contact with their members via e-mail.

2011 Update: The client has since redesigned the site. The screenshot below shows how it looked when completed in 2007.

  • The Situation: The Colby Foundation is a nonprofit organization with an existing installation of CiviCRM setup by a previous volunteer. The system was integrated with their existing Web site in Drupal. The CiviCRM system had been installed completely, however some additional configuration and training was needed to fully use its features.

  • The Situation: Dekker/Perich/Sabatini had a static, traditional Web site that was stale in design and function. As a prominent architectural design firm in the Southwest with a strong reputation for customer service and design excellence, DPS felt it was time to upgrade the site to reflect those values and showcase their projects.
