Data-Scribe Association Web Site Portfolio

  • The Situation: The California Housing Consortium (CHC) wanted the staff to be able to update their site content easily while taking advantage of enhanced features. Also, wanted a better way to manage membership information.

The Problem: They didn't have as much control over their Web site. Content was not updated as often as requested causing members to miss out on timely information. Their 4,000+ contact records were decentralized.

Our Solution: We used Drupal and CiviCRM to redesign this site. CHC now has enhanced membership management and community-oriented features such as a blog, news feeds, donations, and event registration. We also created private group mini-sites that allow the board and other stakeholders to communicate between themselves and receive the latest news, documents, and information.

The Result: The CHC staff update content on a semi-daily basis and stay in regular contact with their members via e-mail.

2011 Update: The client has since redesigned the site. The screenshot below shows how it looked when completed in 2007.

  • The Situation: The Environmental Research Design Association wanted to improve membership management by replacing their Joomla-based membership management system. The original system was installed by another vendor and was limited in what information was visible by the staff of EDRA. In addition, EDRA staff wanted their members to be able to register for their upcoming conference and future events online.

The Problem: They had an existing FileMaker system to manage their 3500+ records. It was difficult for the staff to create, find, and maintain member records. Conference registration was completed via postal mail creating a tedious process of keeping track of their international membership base.

Our Solution: CiviCRM was a perfect solution to how EDRA wished to manage their membership information. We installed CiviCRM and converted their records to fit the data structure. In addition, we setup their upcoming conference registration in CiviEvent.

The Result: EDRA members can join and renew online, update their contact information, and register for events. EDRA staff can keep track of this information in a centralized place with a user-friendly database format. In 2008 and 2009, they used CiviCRM to manage registrations to their annual conference with 600+ attendees. Also in 2009, we upgraded their site to the latest versions of Joomla! and CiviCRM.

UPDATE: The client has since redesigned the site. The screenshot below shows how it looked when completed in 2008.

  • The Situation: Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad (FCTSRR) has over 2200 members. Many of their members are retired. FCTSRR wanted their Web site to be appropriate for their members in addition to reaching out to a younger age group.

  • The Situation: The Human Resource Management Association of New Mexico (HRMANM) is a nonprofit organization that was using Jobing.com to manage their Web site and membership system.

The Problem: HRMANM felt limited in what they could do with their site. They wanted to move the site to a more traditional hosting environment and improve the administrative management of the site for its members, partners and board.

  • The Situation: The International Anaplastology Association (IAA) wanted to update their Web site using Drupal and CiviCRM.
